SC9000 security console x10 output problems.

Hi all

I have a SC9000 security console see:
and a few x10 second gen and original UK x10 devices. I bought the
console for the alarm part mainly but now want to use some of the
functions of the x10 commands over the phone. The main use is to
control a universal relay device to apply a reset pulse to my media PC
via the phone when I need to reboot remotely.

The console will control my three downstairs lights (x10 second gen),
but the signal does not seem to be getting to most of the mains
sockets. The alarm is wired direct to the consumer unit via a fuse (no
RCDs). I ran a mains lead from the alarm power supply to a mains
socket for testing, so it was effectively nearer the devices i\'m
trying to control, and the signal got a bit further around the house
but not far enough. I have a x10 computer interface connected to a PC
under the TV and it never sees the commands sent by the console. I
want this computer interface to see the x10 commands from the alarm
console and then run saved macros.

I\'m guessing the output signal from the console is too low to get
round the house. It all works from my second gen x10 256 address
controller, so the wiring is good and the signal can make it to all
devices from another source.

Does anyone know if these consoles have low outputs or could it be
faulty? I have recently bought a whole house filter but not had time
(or some 63A cable) to fit it. This may help? Maybe I need a repeater?
If so, any recommendations?

Thanks for any advice.
