Re: Remote Desktop

Hello,

Some confusion here I think. I believe Chris wants to control an XP Pro
machine running Cortex from his Mac. For this you can download the
Microsoft
Remote Desktop Client for the Mac - there's a beta version that is a
Universal Binary and seems to do the job pretty well - hasn't crashed on me
so far. Or use the non Beta released version. Both are free.

VNC is OK but a bit slow with Cortex (at least in my setup). RDP much
better
although a bit of lag. It's also a good idea to hide the comms pane unless
you are actually using it, show the structure tree instead.

BUT - there is a bug that causes Cortex to lockup/crash if you restart it
using an RDP session. So either perform updates manually using VNC, or set
auto-update in the middle of the night and ensure you have disconnected any
RDP sessions.

The Apple product is for Mac-to-Mac connections, and yes, a ridiculous
price
and probably stopped me getting a Mac Mini.

Cheers

David
