Yep, maybe ... but 'was thinking a temperature sensor would pick-up
more ... ie:not only it was open, but also some of the consequences, such
as cold & draught' etc - not sure contact / reed switches are the
answer, either, though ... getting then set to switch at the right point
ain't easy, and they tell nothing of how far the door is open ...

Room by room temperature sensing would be very useful to have (cue Mr
Giddings... :-) but I suspect it would be a lousy way of reliably
detecting open doors.

If your house is at the shell stage, surely it would be better to wire
for some sort of door/window contact closure sensors...? (Could still be
1-wire based...)
