Interesting - didn't know they were so different !   Even Corian
scratches' I guess, which could be a health hazard' so wonder if it's OK
with neat bleach ?   Stainless Steel is the only material approved for
commercial kitchens, because of health concerns - but some say it is
difficult to keep looking good (some use baby oil on it, to help with this,
but I always wonder about the health issues with that).   Are there size
limits with Corian, I wonder - could it do a surface 2.5m2, say ?   How
affordable is it, too - it used to be very expensive !

There are other resin products - but none like Corian

Corian themselves (DuPont) have a Chinese version they sell - Montpellier
- and even that isnt anywhere near as good - it's the stuff B&Q sell.

We also tried Apollo with is a product similar to Silestone, Minerelle,
etc - and they do stain easily. We stuck a banana (unopened) and half an
hour later, you had a nice yellow stain - needed sanding to remove.

Corian is 13mm think, Montpellier is 13mm, Apollo is 6mm, and some of the
other cheaper products are only 3mm thick. You can do much less with them.

A mate's got it in his kitchen and it looks like is wears pretty well...

There are also a few other Corian like products around but their name
escapes me at the moment.
