Re: [OT] Parcelforce charges

I would imagine a similar charge would be levied by most courier
firms,
although the amount might vary. Effectively, the courier firm is performing
customs clearance on the goods on your behalf.

I have only dealt with UPS, but at least these guys will call around and
tell you they can't deliver until you pay the charges.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] Parcelforce charges

All,

Having received an LTB audio wireless mic to work in conjunction with
Vista MCE and One Voice MCC I was annoyed with Parcelforce in having
to pay a so called clearance charge of £13.50. I had to call them to
pay the charge (I was tracking it on the net, otherwise I would have
had to wait for the letter to arrive as the have stopped doing COD).

The parcel was from the states and attracted no duty but a small
amount of VAT which was expected.

The thing I'm most annoyed about is that I and other have no choice
(apart from refusing the shipment) in paying their charges.

Bloody rip off I say!

Darren
