I agree with Neil - likely to be a software augmented issue.
try booting a "Live CD" of your choice, and if the problem
persists, you can
be pretty sure it's hardware - if it disappears, then scrutinise software
settings!
Also, with power off, give keyboard a good clean, and "excercise"
each key -
give them a good pouunding and make sure they spring FULLY back up as
expected - - if they don't, it may be time for a strip down and *real*
clean!....(Don't laugh, I nearly threw away a laptop 'cos the keyboard was
broken beyond belief - turned out I'd somehow "latched" the
numeric kepad
and function keys - - so only 15 or so keys actually did what they were
supposed to!!).
took 2 days on and off to figure that one out - - - (in my defence ,it was
slightly complicated by the fact that laptop was used as RDP client to
remote PC, and only *some* of the functions got "mapped through"
- - - so it
wasn't obvious what was going on!!).
Should I turn in my geek card? :(
