Glad its not just me suffering from the 100% SVCHOST.EXE problem then.
Takes about 10 minutes at boot up before it drops back to normal levels :(
Happens on several PCs as well.

MS Has goofed some patches recently - in particular one that puts
SVCHOST.EXE at 100% CPU, and breaks windows/microsoft update. grrr.
