I am no electrician but I thought you have to wire the fan to an
isolator outside the bathroom?  What I have is a mains feed to the
isolator from the light, a feed from isolator to the fan and a feed
from a relay to the isolator.  So mains live goes light -> isolator
patress -> relay -> isolator (where neutral also isolated)->fan

This means the fan can be isolated regardless of what the relay
setting is.
