Automating/integrating XBMC?

Has anyone integrated XBMC into their HA system?

I'm thinking of ripping a few DVD's for the first time and making them
available via my Russound whole house audio/video system. What I'd need to
be able to do is have a DVD playlist that I can skip through from the
Russound wall controllers / remotes (they are a kind of IR learning remote
and can output any learned IR codes).

I could also use an app on my HA PC to talk to the Xbox if needed. I do
have an IR controller for the Xbox but it's a little flakey, so would
prefer a network connected method if possible?

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

Paul.
