My requirement was to have full USB 2.0 speeds.

Yes, it is just for a hardrive however being a Media Center owner, many
of my TV recordings strech into several Gigs. So USB 1.1 speeds aren't
really acceptable for me.

I do own a NAS drive (Synology DS-101g+) which supports USB
connectivity, however it doesn't let me write nativly to NTFS.

With Gigabit Ethernet becoming the norm for many of us, it just
surprises me that full USB 2.0 maximum speeds over Gigabit is such a
hard / expensive find.
