Ahhh....a cable modem.....in which case the weakest link will ethernet
ADSL
modem, or are these things generally a lot less complicated?

Well, so far it certainly seems to be doing the business...

Yup - that's what I needed too ... nothing fancy, just reliable so when I'm
away from home for several weeks at a time for work I can reliably get in
to
my own "servers" and not have the missus phoning me up telling me
she can't
get onto the internet.

Remember the FWAG114 is a *CABLE* router so you'll need an Ethernet ADSL
modem - basically something on here:

I haven't tried setting up a VPN with the FWAG114 yet but I really should

that functionality would be really handy while I'm away!

Yup - exactly ... I had a couple of Linksys cable routers and both just
toasted themselves silly (eventually hanging / crashing) whenever it got
warm weather ...
