[OT] G3 signal problems

our G3 'phones are doing their job quite well, with good (five-bar)
signal levels most places ... but two places where it's not good
(almost none, nought to one bar) is in the office at work & in the
new house ... the common denominator seemed to be metalised windows,
but the wife's car has solar windows (we had to buy an external
aerial for the GPS) & the G3 signal is good in there ... so it's a
puzzle ... there's not a problem in the current house ... 'wonder if
the train would also be a problem ?

the 'phones do not seem to have any sort of external aerial sockets,
but maybe something can be done ... 'never heard of them, but maybe
some sort of outside / inside relay station arrangement could be
contrived ... such as must be used to ensure people can use their
'phones in road-tunnels, etc ...
