Geovision style cctv without a pci card?!!

Seeing a lot of talk at the moment about various CCTV options, I
thinking more and more I'd like it but I'm doing everything I can to
move away from pc's!  If necessary software wise I could use a mac
running parallels so have a Windows server however obviously I
wouldn't have any pci slots to install the geovision card.

So im thinking that I need some sort of external pci
enclosure....which I'm sure I've been told in the past doesn't
exist.....or another means of achieving the same.

I think my options are either a standalone DVR with network ability or
using IP cameras (not really my preference due to expense of cameras).

So....are there any other options available to me?
