Re: Video quality for security - camera lines

I have looked at their stuff. I called but am waiting for a call back
2
days later so I think I got lost somewhere there.

I am well aware of the angle of coverage thing which is great but your
advice of 480 lines is exactly what I was looking for. Also the recording
ability so I'll check that out now.

At the moment I am thinking the kits offered by various places are
probably a mistake and getting a good DVR and following it up with cameras
later (bar maybe 1) is a better approach.

Thanks

Ian

Ian,

Have a look at www.rfconcepts.co.uk

Fairly good range of DVRs and a very good range of cameras.

One thing to remember is to choose the right lens for the area you need to
look at. Check the angle of coverage of the camera and make sure it is
suitable of the view you want to capture. If part of the shot will
capture the sky then go for a camera with good backlight compensation.
Don't get a camera with less than 480 TV lines - this is the minimum you
should go for. RF do some 550 TV lines cameras - make sure the DVR can
record at this resolution though.

I've just recently installed a day/night board camera (from Henrys) and
the night-time view is quite good.

I can send you some images from my system if you want.

Regards

Simon
