Re: [OT] IR extension for XBMC

Smash it and cable it, you should be able to pick up a remote reciever
from a pawn shop for sweet stuff all if you are worried about ruining your
one.

You can extend the IR sensor which is just 3 wires, rather then the USB.

Subject: [ukha_d] [OT] IR extension for XBMC

Hi,

I want to hide my noisy Xbox but need to "outcrop" the receiver
for the IR somewhere - The extension cables for the controllers won't work
as they only extend from the USB-type plug to a round one. There doesn't
seem to be an Xbox extension cable that has a plug on one end and a socket
on the other - Short of smashing the thing open to add a patch cable anyone
got any ideas how I might use an IR remote on an Xbox buried in a cupboard?

Have to silence the puppy too!

TIA

Tim.
