Newbie install of MythTV

Hello all,
A question for all the Myth gurus lurking on here.
I've finally decided to try myth after hearing so many people talking
about how great it is. So far, I'm very impressed.
I have one problem I can't get around, which I would appreciate any help
with.
Does anyone else have Ubuntu Edgy installed, with a Hauppauge PVR-150
and managed to get the IR blaster working with Lirc? I can get the
remote working no problems, but I can't get the Hauppauge blaster to
work at all.
If there is a solid reason for this not working such as a problem in
Edgy, I'll give up and look into getting a serial IR blaster.
