Hi Mal,

I am sorry to say that the reason was not investigated - unfortunately I
was
one step too far from the site. I could not even get any info about the
wiring arrangement e.g. if it was tested across rings etc.

I did once try home plug in an environment which had 3 isolators between
every outlet and the main panel with probably around 20 meters cable in
each
'run'. The signal strength dropped away very quickly and although
connection
between outlets in the same room was possible it only just worked.
