Mark your right. I was running linux with a few drives for 3 years no
problems. Until the powersupply went on the external fwire box.
Since this raid set up it been non stop hassle. I am now going back to the
start and figuring out what I need at bare minimum in storage requirements
and this time taking into consideration MAINTENANCE. I am never to doing
what I should be doing cause I am too busing fixing something else. Home
mailservers and filesevers - with hard drives getting lower in price before
you know you it you have filled 1.5tb whereas a few years ago that would
have been something that was out of scope.

If there is any raid experts or someone more knowledgable than me :-) that
can give me a few suggestions on how to get my raid back that would be
really appreciated
