RE: Re: Electrisave protocol / PC Interface
Yes, had to completely empty the freezer and leave it turned off with
the f=
reezer door open overnight.

The first time this happened (its happened twice) I called an engineer out
=
because I thought the pump had gone, he looked at it for a while, removed
t=
he front panel and disconnected the tube and pulled it completely out of
th=
e door assembly.. this is when he found the frozen section of pipe.. blew
=
it out and reassembled. Total cost =A370. He said that it must be a fault
i=
n the insulation of the door its self that was allowing the pipe to
freeze.=
Next time it happened I just defrosted it, total cost =A30 :-)

You ice dispenser sounds better than ours.. ours just makes the grinding
no=
ise and no ice come out at all :-)

the water dispenser stopped working (this turned out to be the supply=20
tube froze.. a simple "defrost" of the freezer section cured
that),
I might try that - did you have to completely defrost the freezer to=20
do it?
and 2) this ice dispenser freezes up.. I guess warm air gets into=20
the chute and can slightly thaw the ice cubes in the hopper that then=20
freeze together into a solid massive lump. I never use the ice=20
dispenser now, just open the freezer door and reach into the hopper=20
instead.

Heh - you could be describing me! Getting ice out of the hopper by=20
hand is so much easier than using the through-door chute, which=20
grinds for ages before dumping one cube of ice in the glass, and=20
another ten on the floor after you take it away...
