I don't use an Electrisave but instead have a home built system based
around
a clamp meter around the mains meter tail with a remote display in the
kitchen. It's been installed for three years and we would really miss it,
very useful if going out to check if something has been left on. It updates
every second. It reads in Amps so multiply by 240 for a figure in Watts.

Normal day with a PC on, radio, but no lights or TV and it is 1.6
If we are going away and turn off all we can then it drops to 0.9 -
basically the two fridges, a freezer, alarm and digibox on standby.
Winter evening with lights on around house then it will often reach 7, the
kitchen halogen downlighters on their own are 2 Amps.
The laser printer causes a significant spike when it starts, as does the
Hoover - each around 10 Amps for a couple of seconds.
The display is visible from the cooker so my wife uses it to tell when the
oven is up to temperature.
The house doesn't use any gas or oil, all heating and hot water is via an
electric thermal store. The store is fitted with 4 x 3kW heaters so on a
winters morning with everything on the go - lights, kettle, hairdryer,
toaster etc then usage can be high - most I've seen is 84 Amps ! We have a
9kW electric shower in the downstairs cloakroom - if that was on as well
(unlikely) then we might just reach 100Amps - which is the size of the fuse
on the other side of the meter !
