I suppose its all a matter of how far you are prepared to go.  A
couple of years ago I put my scheduled backup device inside a modified (by
me) Firesafe whilst still networked - This meant that the device was
physically secure and protected from all but the Fiercest conflagration
when I guess I would have more on my mind than worrying about losing a
weeks emails!!  Couple that with locating the FireSafe in a stone floored
room without other sources of combustion and you must be almost there.  I
tried to interest Phoenix (the Safe manufacturer) in a version that would
have some inbuilt connectivity/storage but they couldn't be bothered.

I have often thought about offering space on my backup device (inside the
safe) via VPN to someone else with a reciprocal arrangement - Let ADSL
handle the transfer of the data (really only documents, images & Mail
DBX files) and have an online secure location.
