RE: PS3 query

That's an interesting view - I would have thought that Blu-ray would
win
over HD-DVD precisely becasue of the PS3

Clive,

Aren't you worried about the long term viability of Sony's BluRay.
Personally, I'm backing HD-DVD.

A voltage converter is fairly easy to get, but the regionally coded (if
there) would be a problem.

I throught that blu-ray was region-free?

Couple of thoughts. I thought that the PS3 was regionally coded - this
is going to create problems playing disk in the UK, like the early days
of DVD. Secondly, I believe that the embedded PSU is 110v only, you
would therefore need a voltage converter.
