I would wire it as a radial. Just make sure that the circuit protection
matches the cable

Probably the easiest thing to do is to wire out of the UPS (the output
should be protected anyway?), through a spur or fused connection unit
and "daisy chain" to your sockets.

If you use spurs or similar, rated at 13 amps, you can use 1.5mm^2 twin
and earth.

Taking this a step further, have you considered segregating your
"cooking" and "technical" earths, only joining them at
the incomer? Many
noise problems can be attributed to earthing problems. Providing a clean
earth to "technical" equipment can over come many problems.

I know a radio amateur who buried an old copper cylinder in the garden
and used that as an additional earth point! A properly installed earth
rod would probably be just as good.
