The Visonic Powemax MCT-425 smoke alarms report status, I haven't
tried
but I think they'll work with the RFXCom USB receiver.

Subject: [ukha_d] Smoke alarms

Are there any single unit smoke alarms that can be linked to a home
automation program?

i.e. Homeseer?

I intend to install a couple of smoke alarms in hard to get areas -
Node 0, loft and kitchen.

I want to be able to monitor them from my server and perhaps an email
or notification given to me if there is a malfunction or the unit has
run out of batteries? Or to reset the unit should the alarm go off?

Is there anything like this? I don't need a whole house systems with
status board etc etc.

Thanks,

Ho yin
