It's 1 hr charger for the 18v kit.

Back of the chargers says outputs at 2.8A

Yes - although there will be a slight efficiency loss through the
stepdown which might result in slightly more watts on 230/240V.   You
could also use an auto transformer that basically just has one winding
with a tap half way down to produce 110V.  They're slightly better
efficiency although they don't provide mains isolation, and tend to be
cheaper.     (This auto transformer btw is the same arrangement that
allows use of US 110V X10 modules in the UK with a  bridging capacitor)
.   One of the 'all in one' US / UK converters with moulded US sockets
is the neatest if you can locate one at that rating (as it's relatively
high)

Is that 2A BTW on the 120V supply ? Quite a large figure for just a
charger , possibly a peak inrush type value.  What voltage does the
charger give out and does it quote a current for that ?
