Nope this shouldn't be happening with the softmod.

There was a problem with the early (1st Gen) hacks that meant when the
clock ran down the machine would FRAG or sometimes boot (esp if it was
plugged into a network).

But the new Hacks are rock solid and  work by reseting the clock to a
start time on boot.

How did you put on the softmod, did you do it by hand (changing fonts
manually) or did you use the auto installers?
