The bottom line is that for such a simple issue you would think there
is a
simple answer - no there isn't.
I would stick with editing them by hand on each machine. The assumption is
that as its your 'home' you won't have that many anyway!! I've got a
mixture
Win & Linux fixed machines and laptops/smartphone use DHCP
