Why not just get a Buffalo Linkstation in the first instance? Would
also
allow expansion using cheaper USB drives at a later date as it can have

Tim,

Thanks for the suggestion, but the cost would be prohibitive. There is a
version of the device he has that comes with Ethernet, but its =A370 more
expensive, so it would probably be something in the 70 or less price range
he'd be after
