I have had a Topfield TF5800 for a couple of years. I'm very pleased
with it, especially with the MyStuff TAP installed to improve the UI.
The one downside (which applies to every Freeview PVR at the moment
AFAIK) is the lack of a network card. I have it connected to my NSLU2
which allows me to do some things by FTP (e.g. setting up recordings)
but the connection isn't stable enough to copy recordings off by this
method.

I don't know where you got the idea that it can play back 2 recordings
at once. It has 2 Freeview tuners which means you can record 2
programmes at once (and watch a third if it's on the same mux as one
of the others), but it will only play back one at a time (I'd love to
be proved wrong though!).

Regards,
David.
