I use Solid Converter a fair bit.  I paid for mine (solidPDF.com) - I
think they do a time limited trial as well.

If the document isn't sensitive I'm happy to convert if for you. Mail me
offlist.

BTW there is a great FREE Word-> PDF converter called PrimoPDF - it
installs as a printer and just works.  Highly recommended.
