Nothing exactly springs to mind...but Linux MCE is getting close http://linuxmce.com/
It has diskless network bootable nodes (media directors) and remote
(orbiters) than can be things like a Nokia 770 or a windows ce tablet.

Worth watching the video to get an idea of what it can do. However support
for writing your own things is limited, it is possible to add your own
stuff...but not quite in the Main Lobby league :)
Linux MCE  has only recently been forked from Pluto Home http://plutohome.com,so I expect new
features will be add to meet the community demand.

Anyone seen a Linux alternative to MainLobby ? Doesnt have to be advanced

- just Thin ! Would like to be able to create some simple buttons and it

has an RS232 connector to the outside world.



Running Windows for a simple touchscreen app is just wrong for so many
