thats what I was thinking, hmm ideally i want to absolutely minimise
ongoing power consumption and more importantly heat!!

so looks like I need to look into some kind of permanently on
controller or very low power pc/mac that can receive x10 commans and
then issue instructions, i.e. receive command, send shutdown, send x10
off,
