I started from the other direction. I like the look of the monitoring
service Intamac provide (anyone any experience of it ?) but didn't want a
wireless alarm. They sent me a list of compatible alarms which they can
interface with. Ademco, Scantronic, Texecom are all there. In theory these
are professional install only but they implied a self installed one
wouldn't
be a problem.

I already have an Ademco Galaxy but have struggled to get information or
interfaces for it so might start again with a Scantronic.

A valid point about insurance. I would want to avoid a Nacoss install
unless
you really have to for the reasons given and the fact that many installers
aren't like us and will think it's OK to staple white 6 core PVC cable
along
the top of solid oak skirting !!
