Self building there was something I was considering, though at present just
getting to the island would be sufficient.

Are you a native islander or have you moved there for the self-build ?

I've spent a lot of time reading local press and web stuff and there seems
to be lots of conflicting comments on pro's & con's of the island. The
obvious plus to me is that it definitely seems a little slower and even in
the summer not over crowded.

The ferries seem to be a big issue for people, but again costs don't seem
overly prohibitive for same day crossings.

My real concern, other than convincing my wife, is schooling, is this
something you are having to deal with ?

I cant think of anyway i can put this on topic...

Is there any IOW residents on the list ?

I am seriously considering relocating following another great week there,
and the stress i get here from time to time :)

I'd love to hear from anyone (off list of course) who would be willing to
discuss the pro's & con's of the Island - plus if anyone has any
suggestions
for business opportunity's when i get there i'd appreciate it.

The extremely tenuious link to HA would be that if i move i'll have to
start
over again - which i also quite fancy....
