Mac Mini 1.6 vs 1.83 as media Center?

I am looking at putting a mac mini in the lounge as a media Computer,
It will stay running OS X as I need Front Row for integration with the
Russound CAV Amp (It makes a much cheaper MP3 server than the Russound
SMS3).
My quandry is whether I am wasting my money getting the quicker
processor, what's the real world experience of watching a ripped dvd or
streamed media on the Mini??

P.S. The Combi drive and slightly bigger hard disk on the more
expensive unit aren't of interest
