Re: [OT] iTunes question

Hello Paul,

The checking/unchecking is useful for doing some functions (excluding
tracks
from being played, for instance), and probably more that I can't think of
at
the moment.

A little aside - you can select all on/all off by holding down the alt key
when clicking on one of the boxes.

In terms of choosing what you sync to your iPod, you can turn a setting on
to either "sync whole database" or selected Playlist.

You can then create a playlist of what you want syncing to your iPod and
only sync those tracks.

I have an ipod attachment in my car, but navigating playlists isn't very
good through the head unit. So I just sync a few key playlists, including
one that says "All Library," a smart playlist that automatically
adds
anything in my library to it.

This way, although I have only selected playlists syncing (for browsing
purposes) I have all my library on my iPod, should I want to delve in and
get more (when I'm walking around town, for instance).

Probably not exactly what you're after, but thought I'd mention it.

As a last note, my favorite playlist is another smart one that lists the
last 25 items added to my iTunes. Typically when I head out, I want to
listen to the most recent thing I've added (be that a new CD, latest
podcast
I've downloaded, etc)... I don't have to trawl through my library to find
what I want, just head to that playlist and it'll be there...

Best wishes,

Richard.
