[OT] Beware exploding laptops

  • Subject: [OT] Beware exploding laptops

I thought the risk of laptop exploding batteries to be quite low, (and
if
you did have a bad battery that you'd spot a little fire or smoke and have
time to run away) but it happened on Friday to a fellow UK Red Hat
employee, Alan Cox:

This is HA relevant to me as I have a thinkpad on and charging 24x7
including when the house is empty, and a number of Fujitsu point tablets
with their batteries left on. I've no idea what cells are in use in the
Fujitsu Point batteries, but I'm about to take them all out to reduce the
risks.
