He likes the sound of Bose speakers, but as they tend to be tied to Bose
amps, wants something a little less proprietary.  He's done the rounds of
all the local 'high-end' AV stores, and been given piles of conflicting
information, so he just wants my help to de-mystify it.  He's no
audiophile=
,
but equally wants something that sounds good, which is a very subjective
statement, I know.  He's the kind of person that you can tell has cash (in
=
a
nice kind of way), so I'd not want him to be fleeced by being given an
over-spec'd, or over-priced, solution.

Anyway, I've added Linn, B&W and Kef to the list, though note that it's
not
the look of Bose he likes, its the sound.
