Maybe OT?! - Swipe activated login to network computers

Hi all,

It's Monday so here's the challenging question for the week.

At work we have some 500 employees that do NOT have fixed computers.
They regularly use up to 10 different computers a day for relatively
short periods of time. At the moment we just have a generic user
account on each pc, obviously not great for security or for monitoring.

So...looking for some method of them swiping something to login to the
pc, needs to be quick and easy ideally. Either swiping a barcode, a
mag stripe, something like that, needs to log in to windows network
environment. Fingerprints not doable as its an aircraft hangar filled
with engineers with mucky paws and hydraulic fluid and oil and grease
etc on hands!

So...any ideas, we're drawing a blank here but I figured if there's a
way someone on here will have done it :)

Cheers all

Noel
