I transfer it through CAT5 wiring to all my rooms.

Subject: [ukha_d] RFC: I need coax in every room vs. distribute TV via
network

Hi,

reading a recent thread on the automation forum got me wondering. How do
people on the list distribute TV within the house?

Living in an old house myself I used to follow the rule of one coax
cable whereever someone wants to watch TV. Lateley, however, I am purely
using the network connection for my TV watching pleasure.

Running a VDR PC in the attic near the SAT-dish right next to the
multiswitch has proven to be a very good solution for me.

Now, in the HT-room I use VLC to watch the stuff I want to see on a big
screen, and in the living room I have a small Hauppauge MediaMVP
connected to the VDR system.

Now, all the coax in the house is no longer needed.

Do you guys think, this is a good way to go, or do you prefer, to have
dedicated wires for dedicated services?!
