Hi,

as the welcome message to this group implies, I'd like to introduce my
self. I am from Germany, doing IT for a living for a long time, and
finally trying to get my feet wet with home automation.

First question: How reliable is X-10? I am trying in at home (old
building [1967] and around 300sq meter). The CM11 is connected to a
linux server downstairs, running heyu.

The first trigger of an MS13 results in Whenever one of the MS13 gets
triggered I receive an

2006/10/19 15:02:51 rcvi address unit 3 : housecode A (motion)
2006/10/19 15:02:51 rcvi function On : housecode A
2006/10/19 15:06:43 rcvi address unit 3 : housecode A (motion)

However, after that, I only receive the following entry within the
logfile (heyu monitor)

2006/10/19 15:06:43 Poll received unknown value (1 bytes), leading byte
= 63

How successful do you use X-10, especially in slightly older house
running slightly longer cable?
