X10 LW12 in wall dimmer

I 've just fitted 2 of these into switch back boxes, behind the
switch....one on a metal box, the other on a plastic box,

Whilst fitting I touched the metal plate on the LW12 and noticed it was
quite hot....

Does anyone know what sort of temperature this palte can get to and is
there
any risk especially with the plastic back boxes.

any advice appreciated
