Paul,

Yes, I guess that would work.

Was just really wondering if there was any way of doing it via the wireless
stream to Sonos, rather than making an analogue link - I don't really want
to tie up the computer's soundcard with playing the radio.

Cheers

Pete

I'm just thinking aloud here Pete, since I don't (currently) have a
Sonos, but...

Doesn't Sonos have an AUX line in for other audio sources?

If yes, then couldn't you use a "soft" squeeze client on the same
PC as
slimserver (I presume you'd have to run slimserver to use the alienBBC
plugin to get the audio stream to a squeezebox), and connect the audio
out from that PC to the input on the Sonos?

So it would go: Slimserver----AlienBBC-----Softsqeeze-----PC Line
out------Sonos Line in....

Where slimserver, alienBBC and softsqeuuze are all running on the same
box...

Then you could have the real audio stream as a selectable source on
Sonos, and you wouldn't have to buy a real squeezebox...

Just a thought...

Paul G.
