Another "recorder" query...

Anyone know of a Hard Disc / DVD recorder that can control a Sky Box?
Preferably it would also have an HDMI output too.
Ideally it would be easy to use as it is for my parents - I just set them
up
an LCD TV and mum has asked whether I can find her something that will give
them the ability to record programs from their Sky receiver and archive
anything off to DVD that they do want to keep.
