Running two pairs of speakers from 1 amp with selector switch

Can any audio experts out there give me some advice on in-wall A/B
speaker selector switches please.

I need one so I can run two sets of speakers from one Sonos Amp for
the Kitchen and Dining Room and still have individual on/off control.

Do I need to worry about impedance matching with the Sonos (not bought
yet but wiring room up ready) so both left/right hand speakers still
present and 8 ohm load or would the Sonos handle them in parallel (4
ohm?) no problem.

Also, would series wiring them (16 ohm?) (safer?) stop me getting any
kind of reasonable volume from the speakers?
Actually it is even possible to wire them serially using an A/B
selector switch?

The only in-wall selectors I've seen are from places like
www.smarthome.com in the states and they want $45 for shipping and
then I'm likely to get stung for customs duty.
