RE: HA server mainboard recommendations?

Will check the 6400 out.

Re the board, I don't *need* fancy graphics, firewire, dual NIC's, or
7.1 sound. Which isn't to say that I'll explicitly try to avoid getting
them, but I most likely won't use them.

What I *Will* use however, and definitely need, are:

*Minimum* of 2 PCI slots (and ideally 3 or 4)
IDE interface for optical drive, and probably for HDD's as well (I have
a goodly stash of IDE 250GB drives)
Able to support 4GB RAM
1 Gigabit NIC
PS2 keyboard & mouse ports (I have a PS2 based KVM in the rack)
STABLE!

I don't give a hoot about PCI-Express slots, although I imagine it will
be impossible to find a board with an AGP slot, so reusing any of my
stash of spare graphics cards probably won't be an option... - so the
Supermicro with built-in graphics (albeit relatively primitive) ticks
one box in not forcing me to buy another PCI-E GPU... - only the lack of
IDE concerns me, and I suppose that is easily solved with an add-in PCI
IDE card...

Cheers.

Paul G.
