on the
Pioneer and Alpine units you can add the adapter to control the ipod

It's a basic adapter certainly on my Alpine anyhow, but allows access to
playlists, random, and track skip.  It's good enough though  It does do
Artist and Album too, but the scrolling is too slow and the ipod too full.

I want to put a nav system in the cmax - but a removable tomtom style
device doesnt interest me - i want it fixed.

Anyone seen a generic double din device that can do this ? does not need
to rotate or anything (the one the the beemer doesnt)

Only other alt. is a HA PC style device and screen from linitx but Im sure
that will go wrong !
