The Vario II is one of the best purchases I ever made. It goes with me
everywhere and I must admit that I use it more for its agenda/calendar and
email facilities that the telephone so I can't really comment on the talk
time aspect. It sits in a cradle at work 5 days a week so its always pretty
charged but on the weekends with maybe 2 or 3, 10 minute calls a day and
some web browsing/email retrieval it rarely goes below 60% full. That
reminds me, I must get a cradle for home too .

I have been looking at the Vario II as well - but only because Orange are
so
short-sighted they don't offer a with-data service plan!
The only slight concern I have is over battery life. is the 4h30 talk time
enough? Do any of you guys who already have them have any problems with
this?

Yup, Well said. In the last couple of years I've have an XDA 2s, XDA Exec
and now with the Vario2 all the power is finally in a package that most
people would find acceptable to carry round. It's pretty much impossible to
contemplate ever going back to an ordinary phone again.
