RE: What bedside clock for a HA-er?

Hi Paul,

How about a SqueezeBox?

When powered off it can show the time, and has the added bonus of being
able to play music, or TTS announcements (which is exactly what I use my
bedside SliMP3 for!).

Totally silent, reliable, small form factor.

Of course, the display won't show you a CCTV feed, but it can certainly
show you any kind of textual information - including weather station data,
caller ID, or anything else that your HA system can offer you.

And it also has native support for xPL and a third-party plug-in for xAP
support, so if you use either of those protocols in your environment
already, it'll be a breeze to integrate.

Regards,

John
