I've asked for some bloody way of interfacing with it before (the uPnP
interpretation is sketchy). I'm not convinced slapping IR on it wil be
much cop (we have systems for that already).

I did suggest xAP but it fell on deaf ear. I just need realtime status
from it (dont need to write to it - thats what the controller is for, or
even blasting out http commands to it - easy enough). If we can get
realtime status then it then becomes part of your HA system Automatic
switching of your amp perhaps sir ?

Yup, got that - and said yes please!!

Also asked for IR, easy interface to other "components" and
left/right
scrolling on the controller for long album/track names
